Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a fee to meet with a lawyer?

A: There is no consultation fee for criminal and juvenile delinquency matters. There is a $300.00 initial consultation fee for all family law matters, however, your retainer will be reduced by the amount of the consultation fee should you retain the lawyer.

Q: How much will it cost to retain a lawyer?

A: The attorney will meet with you at your initial consultation in an effort to determine how complicated your particular case is. At the conclusion of the initial consultation the attorney will advise you as to his or her requested retainer.

Q: What is a retainer?

A: A down payment paid to an attorney to engage his or her services based upon the estimated projected time your case will require. To ensure the best representation possible, our firm, as with most, can only handle a limited number of cases. Acceptance of your retainer obligates Weiffenbach & Kaklis to represent your interests at the possible preclusion of being able to represent future clients.

Q: How much time will I be provided at the initial consultation?

A: Generally, 30 - 45 minutes, however, each attorney will make his or her best efforts to provide adequate time to address your questions and concerns.

Q: How long have the lawyers been practicing law?

A: E. Jon Weiffenbach has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1984. Teresa (Teri) Kaklis Dees has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1996.

Q:In what area(s) of the law does each attorney practice?

A: E. Jon Weiffenbach provides legal representation in all family law matters, all criminal defense matters and juvenile defense. Teresa Kaklis Dees provides legal representation in all family law matters, select misdemeanor matters and juvenile defense.

Q: Where are you located and where do I park?

A: Downtown Bradenton, on 12th Street West between Manatee Avenue and State Road 64. We are located directly across the street, to the west, of the Historic Courthouse. Free street parking is generally available with a 2-hour maximum, on 13th Street, one block to our west.
